Our alpine adventure begins
with a leisurely visit to charming Chamonix in France, quietly
nestled at the foot of Mont Blanc. |
Day 4 Zermatt (included)
and the Gornergrat Railway (optional). |
Travelling by coach to the town of Täsch,
we then journey by train to the
internationally-renowned mountain village
of Zermatt (below the Matterhorn),
where you can enjoy time at leisure.
Join our optional rail ride on the
Gornergrat Railway, Switzerland’s highest
operating railway station, running trains
since 1898. Gently climbing through a
natural paradise, the Gornergrat Bahn
takes us from Zermatt up the 3089-
metre-high peak. We cross pine and larch
forests and flower-covered Alpine
meadows, arriving in the midst of snow
and ice-covered mountain peaks, including
the great Matterhorn, Liskamm and
Dufour-Spitze. |
Day 5 The Golden Pass
Railway and Geneva (included). |
Enjoy panoramic views of
the Swiss Alps on the magnificent Golden Pass Railway. We
begin our journey in Zweisimmen and pass through the world-famous
resorts, Gstaad and Châteaux d’Oex. As we near Montreux, the
Lake region begins to unfold below, revealing lovely views
of the popular ‘Swiss Riviera’. We spend the rest of the day
in lakeside Geneva, where you have free time to wander around
this cosmopolitan city, with its smart shops. The day ends
with a chance to see the city from the water, on an optional
lake cruise. |
| Your Hotels |
You’ll stay for four nights
in the 3-star Hotel le Relais Alpin in the centre of the
picturesque village of Col des Mosses, where a warm welcome
awaits you from the Bonelli family. The hotel has a restaurant,
bar, terrace and lift and is close to local amenities. All
bedrooms have T.V. and telephone. Overnight stays in northern France and the Paris area are in city-style hotels. |
