Day 2 Koblenz, Cochem
and the Moselle Valley (optional) |
Wander around the quaint
lanes and pretty squares of Koblenz, situated at the confluence
of the Rhine and Moselle. There’s a definite medieval atmosphere
in Cochem, especially if you visit the old castle. Later,
try some local red and white wines at the House of Anton Hammes
in Alken on our optional winetasting experience. |
Day 3 The Rhine Valley

This area is full of legends,
like that of the Loreley Rock. There’s a wonderful walk along
the pretty Rhine Promenade in Boppard to catch the sights
along the river, and be prepared for some strange noises coming
from the world’s largest cuckoo clock shop in St. Goar! Exploring
the Rhine Gorge on our optional river cruise is a quiet and
calming experience, offering great castle and village photo
opportunities on both sides of the river. |
Day 4 Rüdesheim (included) |
We visit the picturesque
riverside ‘wine town’ of Rüdesheim, where you can explore
the Drosselgasse, a narrow street with cosy cafés, shops and
bars. |
| Your Hotels |
You will have your own
room for the duration of your four-night stay at the well-established
3-star Hotel Alte Bauernschänke in Assmannshausen. The hotel, owned by the Berg family who
have been welcoming Leger guests for
many years, is typically ‘Rhineland’ in style,
with an atmosphere to match, and the
building is over 600 years old. There’s a lift,
restaurant and large bar area.
All bedrooms have T.V., telephone and safe. Please Note: On some occasions, it may be necessary, due to demand, to stay in other hotels of a similar standard in Assmannshausen. |

On all Single Traveller
holidays, at no extra charge and providing you live within
20 miles of one of our joining points, we will collect you
from your home and take you to one of our local joining
points, then return you to your home at the end of your
holiday. On holidays of 12 days duration or more, plus on
the Oberammergau packages, you can reserve this Door-to-Door
service for a charge of £39.99 per car (up to four people
