Day 3 Berlin with guided
sightseeing tour (included) |
Once ravaged by war and
divided by politicians, Germany’s united showpiece capital
city now more than lives up to its exciting reputation. Packed
with historical interest and significance, it is a fascinating
city to explore. The notorious wall is of course long gone,
but its legacy continues. Visit the Checkpoint Charlie Museum
for a glimpse of life during the Cold War and admire the impressive
Brandenburg Gate. Our included sightseeing tour with local
English speaking guide will explain the changes which have
taken place since unification. We see the sights of former
West Berlin including the famous street, the Kurfürstendamm
with its cafés, theatres, cinemas and art galleries and the
newly refurbished Reichstag building, the home of the German
Parliament. We continue into former East Berlin where we see
the Cathedral, Humboldt University and the famous Unter den
Linden street. A day to remember. |
Day 5 Prague (optional)
with guided sightseeing tour (optional) |
You have two days in Prague,
the beautiful capital of the Czech Republic. This Gothic masterpiece
has played a major role in the development of Central Europe
since the Middle Ages, and is widely recognised as one of
the most beautiful cities in the world. Our optional guided
walking tour will introduce the splendid architecture of Prague
Old Town, the world’s largest UNESCO monument. The many historic
buildings, grand squares and elegant landmarks such as Wenceslas
Square, the famous Astronomical Clock and Charles Bridge make
it a lovely place to explore on foot. Our local guide’s informative
commentary will reveal many of the stories behind the buildings
and personalities which have shaped the history of this magnificent
city. |
Day 8 Vienna (included)

Once the centre of The
Habsburg empire, Vienna boasts a fascinating imperial heritage.

Don’t forget to sample some of the famous delicacies such
as coffee and a slice of Sachertorte. Our optional guided
tour will introduce the principal sights, including the Hofburg
Palace, the Parliament Building, the Opera House, National
