FULL
DAY In the morning to Shrewsbury, set within a loop above the River Severn. See the many black and white half-timbered buildings and explore the numerous medieval alleyways. In the afternoon we tour the Welsh borderlands, calling at sleepy Bishop’s Castle, with its second hand bookshops and crooked 16th century House on Crutches, then to ‘Little Switzerland’, the name given to the lofty ridge of the Long Mynd. |
FULL DAY To the lovely old hilltop town of Bridgnorth, where we board the famous Severn Valley Railway (ticket included) for a ride to Kidderminster. In the afternoon we soon reach Worcester, where the cathedral dates from 1084. If you wish, climb the 249 steps to the top of the tower for views of the city and the River Severn. The renowned Worcester Porcelain factory is nearby, where you can take an optional Visitor Experience tour, explore the Porcelain Museum and be tempted by the pottery shop which has fantastic bargains! |
