SUNDAY From local departure points we head towards our overnight stop in the north of England. |
MONDAY Heading for the border we cross into Scotland before skirting the banks of Loch Lomond and, travelling through some of Scotland’s finest scenery, on to Oban. |
TUESDAY Enjoy a day at leisure in this pretty west coast port. |
WEDNESDAY Today you’ll enjoy some of Scotland’s finest coastal and loch scenery on an extended half day tour.We travel by the shores of Loch Awe to the white walled Georgian town of Inveraray which is beautifully set on the shores of Loch Fyne. Then it’s on to Lochgilphead, and returning to Oban past Kilmartin Glen, setting of ancient monuments 5,000 years old and by the coast road with its beautiful landscapes. After dinner join in the traditional Ceilidh with Scottish Highland Dancers and take part in the ‘Address of The Haggis’, made famous by Robert Burns. |
THURSDAY Another scenic tour today as we take the road through the narrow Pass of Brander and wild Rannoch Moor to descend Glencoe -probably the most spectacular and infamous glen in Scotland, setting of the Massacre of 1692. Later we reach the shores of Loch Linnhe, and the popular touring centre of Fort William which lies below Ben Nevis, Britain’s highest mountain. Here there is time for sightseeing before returning by the Appin shore of Loch Linnhe, with panoramic coastal and mountain views. Enjoy a final evening of entertainment with prizes for the ‘Best Dressed wearing Tartan’. |
FRIDAY Today we leave the splendour of Scotland’s west coast and make our way south through beautiful border country to our final night in England. |
SATURDAY Sadly we make our way homeward. |
