| Killarney
& the Ring of Kerry By Air with Coach Tours - 5 Days Tour Highlights • Ring of Kerry scenic drive • Lovely Killarney • Special Jaunting car ride • Waterbus Cruise |
The Killarney National Park, in Ireland’s idyllic south west corner, has a natural blend of
mountains, lakes, and waterfalls that has been celebrated over the years in poetry, prose,
song and art. At the edge of Lough Leane, the largest lake, sits Killarney town, a
renowned worldwide tourist centre, where ‘jarveys’ take their horse drawn ‘jaunting cars’
through the narrow streets and byways, as they have done since Victorian times.
Although relatively small, the town is completely geared to sustainable tourism, with
many attractions including the restored 15th century Ross Castle, Muckross House,
Folklife Museum, visitor centre and gardens, and signposted walking and nature trails
along the lake shore. |
| Killarney & the Ring of Kerry - Your Itinerary |
SUNDAY Make your own way to one of our featured regional airports and board your flight to Ireland. Here you’ll meet our resort representative who will ensure you connect with your transfer to Killarney and the International Hotel. Transfer time from Cork is approx 90 minutes and from Kerry 20 minutes. |
MONDAY A free day to relax and explore Killarney. |
TUESDAY A full day coach tour around the scenic Ring of Kerry, one of Ireland’s most renowned tours. You will enjoy 110 miles of coastal, mountain and lakeland panoramas as the road circles the Iveragh Peninsula, winding around cliffs, past idyllic beaches and quaint villages. See the palm tree lined fishing town of Glenbeigh, the dunes of Rossbeigh Strand, the retreat of Charlie Chaplin at Waterville, colourful Smeen, and Parknasilla, a favourite haunt of George Bernard Shaw, which has subtropical vegetation. |
WEDNESDAY A fascinating day in store - first you’ll board a jaunting car outside your hotel for a trot along the lakeshore byways, with a commentary by your ‘jarvey’ on the sights and local legends. At Ross Castle pier embark on an enclosed waterbus for a cruise on the lake, with outstanding views of Ireland’s highest mountains. |
THURSDAY Today we transfer back to the airport for the flight back to your chosen regional airport. |
