The Irish Rover
Coach Tours - 8 Days

Tour Highlights
• Pretty Westport • Donegal Bay cruise • Belleek Pottery • Beauty of Yeat’s Country and Glencar Lough
• Scenic tour of County Mayo • Achill Island • The Erris Peninsula

Discover Ireland’s natural beauty in its purest form, meandering through the highways and byways of County Mayo and County Sligo - two of the emerald isle’s best-kept secrets - and along the breathtaking Donegal coast. Our base of Ballina, at the mouth of the River Moy, is the perfect base for discovering the Ox Mountains and the beautiful Moy Valley, while our base in Donegal is ideally situated for a boat cruise of Donegal Bay and a visit to the world famous Belleek Pottery.

The Irish Rover - Your Itinerary
SUNDAY
From local departure points we make our way towards Wales for an overnight stop.
MONDAY
An early start enables us to use the fast ferry from Holyhead to Dublin (breakfast voucher included), before travelling across Ireland towards the west coast, stopping at the famous town of Knock with time to visit the fabled Basilica of our Lady and Apparition Church. We continue on to our hotel, the elegant Downhill House Hotel, for three nights.
TUESDAY
A full day circular tour of County Mayo, crossing the northern reaches of the Nephin Beg Range before arriving in Bangor and onwards to the Erris Peninsula, a short outcrop off the north western edge of Mayo encompassing sandy beaches and scenic views. We return around the northern shores of Mayo.
WEDNESDAY
A full day excursion to the popular seaside resort of Westport, in the shadows of Croagh Patrick, where St Patrick fasted for forty days and forty nights. We continue to Achill - Ireland’s largest island.
THURSDAY
We leave Ballina and skirt the Ox Mountains en-route to Yeats Country. We pause at the grave of the immortalised Irish Poet, W.B Yeats, before viewing Glencar Lough - famed in many of Yeats’ works. We continue for an afternoon visit to the famous Belleek Pottery, including guided tour (admission included), before reaching Donegal town and the Central Hotel for two nights.
FRIDAY
This morning we include a cruise of fabled Donegal Bay (admission included) before enjoying the remainder of the day at leisure. Perhaps take a visit to Donegal Castle.
SATURDAY
We leave Donegal and head for the coast, taking the fast ferry from Belfast to Stranraer where we come to our overnight hotel in the north of England.
SUNDAY
Our tour comes to an end as we return home.
