SUNDAY From local departure points we travel towards Wales for an overnight stop. |
MONDAY To the Pembrokeshire coast for an afternoon sailing to Rosslare, and then the relatively short journey to Enniscorthy and Treacy’s Hotel, where we stay for five nights. |
TUESDAY A leisurely free day to explore Enniscorthy. |
WEDNESDAY In the morning to Waterford, an old Viking harbour town, where the quaysides along the river still retain an atmosphere of bygone days.After sometime for sightseeing, we take a return ride on the Waterford & Suir Railway, which operates alongside the River Suir from the village of Kilmeadon (ticket included).In the afternoon there is more to look forward to when we take a two hour cruise from the town of New Ross with afternoon tea on board (ticket included). |
THURSDAY Full day circular tour through the Wicklow Mountains to visit Glendalough, the glen of two lakes and site of St Kevin’s ancient monastic city, now a peaceful backwater in the hills. On by a scenic road to the beauty spot known as the ‘Meeting of the Waters’ and the village of Avoca, best known as ‘Ballykissangel’ in the TV series.The local hand-weaving workshop is the country’s oldest, specialising in tweeds and knitwear. |
FRIDAY A full day tour to the Irish capital, Dublin, where the mix of the Irish themselves, whose reputation for charm and wit is legendary, and the wealth of places to see and things to do,make this one of Europe’s great capital cities. |
SATURDAY Return to Wales by ferry from Rosslare and on to our overnight hotel. |
SUNDAY Return to our original departure points with the journey homeward. |
