HALF
DAY An extended half day circular tour gives a good introduction to the outstanding scenery of the Yorkshire Dales. Through landscapes familiar to 'Emmerdale' viewers, we descend to Nidderdale and Pateley Bridge, then climb over the wild moorlands of Greenhow Hill for a sightseeing stop at Grassington. No more than a large village, its cobbled square bustles with visitors in summer, and is surrounded by shops, cafes and inns. Return to Leeds by mid afternoon, through Wharfedale and Ilkley, sheltered by Ilkley Moor. |
FULL DAY Into Yorkshire’s favoured 'Golden Triangle', where property is at its most desirable. In the morning to Harrogate, a fashionable spa town with green parkland, beautiful gardens, boutiques and teashops, then on to York for the afternoon.Without doubt, one of our favourite tourist cities, from the majestic Minster and old city walls to narrow alleyways such as The Shambles and fabulous museums such as the Jorvik Centre and National Railway Museum. |
FULL DAY A very scenic day touring the Yorkshire Dales National Park. Through the small cathedral city of Ripon to reach peaceful Wensleydale, famous for its cheese, to call at Hawes, tourist centre for the northern Dales, where the cheese is made. On past soaring Ribblehead railway viaduct to Settle and the market town of Skipton, where the main street is overlooked by a medieval castle. Finally through Airedale to return to our hotel. |
