FULL
DAY Exploring the gardens of Lincolnshire Wolds. First to Harrington Hall, a mellow Tudor house in an idyllic setting, which has a variety of wall shrubs, climbers, herbaceous and mixed borders in a memorable garden.We continue to the delightful family run 4.5 acre garden at Goltho House near Wragby. The garden boasts a long grass walk flanked by abundantly planted mixed borders, from which a network of paths and walkways meander out to the nut walk, prairie border, wildflower meadow and the rose garden. Finally to Stixwould, where you can discover the hidden delights of an enthusiastic local gardener. |
FULL DAY A leisurely day to Spalding, the garden town of the Lincolnshire Fens. First we visit Ayscoughfee Hall to see the formal gardens of a historic 15th century wool merchant’s house, enclosed by mellow walls in a lovely setting next to the River Welland. These beautiful gardens feature a fishpond with fountains, a Garden of Peace, a yew tree walk and a herb garden. Continue to the renowned Springfield Festival Gardens, in a setting of 38 acres including famous garden designs to inspire you, woodland walks and a popular outlet shopping centre. |
