This
new concept of seeing the battlefields has been introduced
by popular request. Peter Williams, our head cycling guide
(pictured opposite) has many years experience guiding First
World War tours around the Ypres Salient, and he is looking
forward to sharing his knowledge with you. Each ride is approx.
20 – 25 miles a day, and although you need to be able to ride
in traffic, most of the rides are at a leisurely pace through
often lovely countryside, following quiet country lanes and
cycle paths. Equipment Bicycles are provided and will be town and country type cycles, each with seven gears, straight handlebars and comfortable saddles, ideally designed for leisurely cycling. Please note that hard hats are not provided, so you should bring your own. Other items which you may require are cycle clips, rucksack or panniers, suitable waterproofs and riding clothing, sun-tan cream and water bottle. |
