picturesque Abbey town of Battle and actually
see the site where the clash between the Saxons
and William the Conqueror took place. It’s then
onto Hastings to its perfectly preserved Old Town
and natural harbour. A fascinating day out. Half Day: We’re off to see England’s longest water-filled moat today dramatically surrounding seven acres of beautiful grounds, on which sits Michelham Priory, a magnificent Tudor mansion along with its impressive Gatehouse and working watermill.
