DAY
1: Local departure then onward to your overnight stay in Belgium. |
DAY
3: Innsbruck (included). Morning at leisure to explore your new surroundings. Later we travel to the ‘capital’ of the Austrian Tyrol, Innsbruck with its famous Golden Roof, Imperial Palace and beautiful Marie Theresien Strasse all in the shadow of the lofty Karwendel Mountains behind the town. Warm yourself with a glass of mulled wine as you stroll around the two Christmas markets and the Swarovski Crystal shop which is turned into a Christmas grotto during the festive period. B,D |
DAY
4: Munich (included). Over the border into Germany today as we travel to Munich, the Bavarian Capital, to enjoy the atmosphere of the extensive Christmas market in the Marienplatz in front of the huge Town Hall. The Christmas market, or ‘Christkindlmarkt’, is a tradition that dates back to the 14th century. Buy those all-important gifts and at the same time spoil yourself with the tasty local sausages and other food and drink delicacies available. To allow extra time at the Christmas markets in Munich, we include lunch at our hotel and then head to Munich. You will then have time to purchase dinner in Munich. B,L |

5: Neuschwanstein and Kempten (optional). In the morning we visit the village of Hohenschwangau, where probably the most photographed castle in the world, Neuschwanstein, stands high above the village. Please note that if you decide to visit the castle, there is a degree of walking involved, as well as a number of steps to climb.
